What does it mean?
Screed is a layer placed to achieve a required floor level, finish or substrate condition. Its specification may differ according to whether it is bonded, unbonded, floating or part of another floor system. Estimating volume requires the actual area and thickness, including any changes in levels. Product yield and installation requirements determine the conversion from volume to bags.
In practice
A 30 m² floor with a uniform 50 mm screed needs 1.5 m³ before losses. If thickness varies, divide the floor into measured zones or use a justified average supported by level information.

When preparing an estimate, record the specification reference, units and source of each assumption. Separate the net measured quantity from purchase allowances so changes remain easy to trace. Confirm product dimensions, yields and installation requirements with the supplier.
